Escape to a private North Shore retreat seated at the top of 80 private forested acres with stunning panoramic Lake Superior views. Perfect for romantic stargazing in hammocks or a family fun retreat with games and trails. Relax by the smokeless fire pit, explore nearby State Parks, the Superior Hiking Trail, or stroll to the peaceful Little Marais River on the property. Whether you’re seeking adventure, connection, or quiet moments, this secluded haven offers something for everyone.
Superior Haven is perched on a ridge, offering breathtaking views of Lake Superior and the surrounding hills. Nestled on 78 acres of woodland, it’s the perfect place to reconnect with nature while enjoying all the modern conveniences. To minimize our impact on the environment, the house is powered by solar with a battery backup and with new high-efficiency appliances.
A covered deck is perfect for a summer lunch or dinner while watching the birds and listening to the wind in the trees. A small screen porch out front is ideal for sipping your coffee while watching the sun rise over Lake Superior.
Just off the doorstep is a large open area for gathering. We offer a spacious smokeless fire-pit to roast marshmallows and enjoy the company of family and friends.
For lounging, there are two large hammocks for enjoying a book, taking a nap, or viewing the innumerable stars on a dark night.
The main floor boasts two spacious living areas for gathering and relaxing. The main room is an open concept living/kitchen area with a fully equipped kitchen, ready for your culinary adventures. The second living space features a cozy dining table and a TV, ideal for watching a movie after a day of outdoor fun. And guess what? The couch in the TV room folds out to reveal a queen-size memory foam bed accommodating extra guests. The main floor includes a 3/4 bathroom.
Upstairs, you’ll find two bedrooms with stunning views. The primary bedroom is spacious and luxurious, featuring a king-size bed and a private seating area where you can unwind and enjoy the breathtaking views of Lake Superior. The couch in the primary bedroom can be folded out to create a queen-size memory foam bed, making it ideal for families with kids who want to stay close to their parents. From this bedroom, you can also take in the stunning stars and rejuvenating sunrises (or, if you prefer, blackout shades can be used to let you sleep in when you need some extra rest).
The smaller second bedroom is cozy and inviting, featuring a queen bed and a splendid northern view of the rugged north shore. Just like the primary bedroom, it has blackout shades for the night owls.
And the best part? Both bedrooms and the main living area have individual climate control with mini-split units, ensuring you stay comfortable no matter the weather or your preferences for temperature.
You will have access to the entire property and home. There is a garage and pole barn which are not guest accessible.
There is a trail that takes you down to the Little Marais river you may enjoy hiking. It is a steep hike down several hundred feet to the river but is well worth the hike. The trail is about a mile down to the river but given the terrain, plan on at least an hour round trip.
Additional trails are being developed but may not be passible yet.
I strive to provide you with the highest level of service and enjoyment for your stay. Please reach out to me in the AirBnB app with any questions that may come up!
